Dan Panosian Sample Page

In celebration of wrapping up colors on Deathmatch #4, I’m coming up for air and posting some sample pages I did a little while ago.  Done for practice, not profit, etc.

This one’s by Dan Panosian from a Euro graphic novel of some sort. I don’t know the specifics, as I bummed it from DA. Enjoy!

Extermination and Deathmatch from Boom!

Man, that’s a violent headline.

So merry pre-Christmas and/or other seasonal celebration to you all. I know I’m not done with my shopping yet.

Wanted to give you all a heads up that Boom!’s Deathmatch #1 by Paul Jenkins and Carlos Magno, with colors by me, comes out next week – Dec. 26th. It’s one of only a handful of books that will be in shops the day after X-mas. So if you’re looking to spend that sweet cash from Grandma, pick up a copy. I’d be eternally grateful.

Also, poor showman that I am, I forgot to mention that Extermination #7, the penultimate chapter, came out last week. So as a holiday treat, here are the unlettered versions of the 5-pg preview you can see over at CBR.

Outlaw Territory

I got permission from my editor to post the first two pages of “Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Snow…” the short story I colored from Image’s upcoming third volume of Outlaw Territory.

The art is by the lovely and talented Alison Sampson and was written by Jonathan Callan, my old college roommate and writer for such staples of the childrens as Ben 10: Omniverse and Generator Rex.

Batman Practice

No, I’m not training to be Batman. I wish. Although that would have been a much cooler after school activity than “soccer practice.” (Or in my case……             ……musical rehearsal.)

Anywho, to celebrate finishing up the colors for a small side project, I colored another page for practice. Because I am super cool and totally have a social life. This is a Batman pinup I colored up by the awesome Dave Marquez.

San Diego and Some Samples

Getting ready for Comic-Con weekend. So much to do. Future reference: moving to the opposite coast a week before the world’s biggest comic book convention may not have been the best plan. Still haven’t done anything but scan over the panel schedule and try to sort out the portfolio review stuff. And I’d really like to make it over to Trickster if at all possible, but we’ll see if I have the stamina for it.

My name will be on my badge, so again, feel free to stop and say hi if you see me. If my eyes are bloodshot and glazed over, do not fear. I won’t be hopped up on Bath Salts. It’s just that old San Diego fever.

In the mean time, I’ve been trying to build up the portfolio. In addition to Secret stuff, and some other random things, I’ve put together these three pages as samples of Blair Butler and Kevin Mellon’s Image book, Heart. (As usual, these were done for practice, not profit. I have no affiliation with the actual book – which was in black and white, anyway.)

And here they are:

Luther Stode by Kevin Mellon Warmup

Warmup piece I did of a pinup by the great Kevin Mellon of Justin Jordan and Tradd Moore’s Strange Talent of Luther Strode. (Done only for fun/practice – stolen off of DeviantArt.)

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming: coloring Secret.
