Robocop: Last Stand #1 Out Now

Robocop: Last Stand from Boom! studios hit last week. It’s an adaptation of Frank Miller’s original (read: superior) script for Robocop 3. You may have noticed my name in the credits.

Here are some unlettered versions of the preview pages released by Boom ahead of the issues release.

Superman Print, Superman Party

Tomorrow (well, today, I just haven’t gone to sleep yet) I’ll be appearing at Heroes Your Mom Threw Out Comic Shop in Elmira, NY. They’re having a pre-Man of Steel Superman party. I (and several other local artists) will be doing sketches and such from 4-7pm. Come on down won’t you?

As such, I just finished up this Superman Rogues piece as a companion to my Batman Rogues one. I’ll have prints of both with me at the store, for the low, low price of $10 each.

No Hero

Yes, that was a Warren Ellis reference.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I’m not going to be at Heroes Con this weekend, after all. Had some financial issues come up, and just couldn’t afford the trip. Hopefully I’ll make it next year.

Heroes Con and Deathmatch #6

Deathmatch #6 is in stores. Did you get your copy?

Here’s a preview over at CBR: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=16695

Plus I got a nice shoutout in this 4/5 review over at Comic Bastards: http://www.comicbastards.com/homepage/2013/5/30/review-deathmatch-6.html

In other news, I’ll be at Heroes Con in Charlotte next weekend. I’m not sure where I’ll be – I should be set up at or near Ryan Bodenheim’s table. So find him and you should fine me. Plus, you know, he draws cool things… so you should look him up anyway.

I’ll have copies of all 6 issues of Deathmatch, Walking Dead prints, plus a new print for the show that I’ll post later in the week.

Last year’s Heroes show was hands down the best convention I’ve been to. And this year’s won’t disappoint. So come on down and visit, won’t you?

Chris Samnee Captain America

Oh, I also did this Chris Samnee Cap page for PnP (I’m coining that by the way) last week. Tried for something a bit more painterly with Chris stuff than he’s usually colored. I think it’s fairly successful, although seeing Matt Wilson’s gorgeous work over Chris in the Superman story that just came out, maybe I was wrong. You decide!

Matteo Scalera Sketches

I’ve been keeping busy between deadlines by messing around with these Matteo Scalera sketches I cribbed from his DA page. These were around 45-1hr each. All for practice and fun.

Matteo’s stuff is amazing, btw. If you’re not a fan, become one!

Walking Dead Piece for River Road Expo

Lat notice, I know, but I wanted to post this piece of Walking Dead art I did. I drew this awhile back but only just got around to coloring it after finally catching up on the s3 finale last week. And then my brother, Scott Garland, came in to pinch hit on the text. He’s got mad skills if you’re in the market for a graphic designer.

I’ll have a few prints of this at River Road Expo tomorrow. So come on down, say hi, and pick up a copy!

River Road Expo

Hey all,

This Sunday, April 21st, I’m going to be at River Road Expo, an awesome local show at the Tioga Downs Casino in Nichols, NY.

I’ll have copies of Deathmatch and Extermination, will be taking commissions, and am hoping to have a print or two for sale if all goes according to plan.

If you would like to request a commission ahead of time, feel free to email me at mgarland87@gmail.com for rates.

The show runs from noon to 5pm, and I’ll be there all day. Please come on down, pick up some comics or art, or just say hi!
